  5.   CompuServe Mail allows you to exchange messages with Advantis'
  6.   electronic mail system via an X.400 interconnection.  Advantis
  7.   operates a messaging and data network made up of services that were
  8.   formerly operated by the IBM Information Network and the Sears
  9.   Communications Company.  The Advantis electronic mail service is
  10.   known as IBM Mail Exchange.

  12.   SENDING TO ADVANTIS

  14.   Proper addressing is mandatory to ensure mail delivery to Advantis
  15.   from CompuServe Mail.  To send a message to an IBM Mail Exchange
  16.   recipient, use the following format:

  18.   X400:(c=us;a=ibmx400;p=ibmmail;s=SURNAME;g=GIVEN NAME)

  20.   For example, if an IBM Mail Exchange user told you their address was
  21.   "PRMD of IBMMAIL, Surname of SMITH and Given Name of JOHN", you would
  22.   enter the following address in CompuServe Mail:

  24.        X400:(c=us;a=ibmx400;p=ibmmail;s=smith;g=john)

  26.   NOTE:  "X400:" must always precede the address, the address must be
  27.   enclosed in parentheses, and the elements must be separated by
  28.   semi-colons.

  30.   RECEIVING MAIL FROM ADVANTIS

  32.   The address that you should give to a user of any mail system which
  33.   can route messages to CompuServe via an X400 interconnection is:

  35.   Country=us ADMD=CompuServe PRMD=csmail DDA Type=id DDA Value= Your
  36.   Mailbox

  38.   For Public CompuServe Mail users, the DDA value is equal to your user
  39.   ID with a period in place of the comma.

  41.   For Private CompuServe Mail system users, this is your address in the
  42.   form of EMI:MAILBOX, where EMI is the unique identifier assigned to
  43.   your organization's private CompuServe Mail system.

  45.   Advantis Mail Exchange users can also send messages to Novell Netware
  46.   MHS mailboxes via the CompuServe Mail Hub.  The address that you
  47.   should give in order to be reached at a Netware MHS mailbox through
  48.   the CompuServe Mail Hub via X400 is:

  50.   Country=us ADMD=CompuServe PRMD=csmail DDA Type=id DDA
  51.   Value=mhs:username(a)workgroup

  53.   NOTE:  The "@" symbol normally used in a NetWare MHS address must be
  54.   replaced by "(a)" when used in a X400 address.

  56.   NOTE:  For Advantis' public mail service users, as well as some
  57.   private management domains, IBM Mail Exchange performs an "alias and
  58.   registration" function.  This can occur in one of two ways.  An IBM
  59.   Mail Exchange user can pre-register your CompuServe Mail address in
  60.   the IBM Mail Exchange directory, before receiving mail from you.
  61.   During this registration process, IBM Mail Exchange will assign an
  62.   alias (a numeric string) to your address.  Alternatively, if a
  63.   CompuServe user sends mail to an IBM Mail Exchange recipient before
  64.   being registered, Advantis automatically performs the registration.
  65.   Either way, IBM Mail Exchange users must address messages with the
  66.   numeric string assigned to your CompuServe address.
